Dianne and I purchased our Raven Black 1956 Thunderbird in July of 1980. This car was built August 1st, 1956 and sent to Cort Fox Ford in Hollywood, California. Owen and Joy Darcey were driving past Cort Fox Ford on Hollywood Boulevard and spotted the car sitting on the showroom floor. They fell in love with the car and purchased it. The picture shown above is Owen the original owner and myself. Owen was kind enough to let me copy the color home movies he had taken of the car when it was new and also more video clips from 1968. I have every Department of Motor Vehicle registration slip since the car was new. The Darcey's took very good care of the car. I have all of the maintenance records that Owen kept for the 13 years that they owned the car.
Dianne and I purchased the car in Santa Rosa, California. The car has the 312 engine, Town & Country Radio, Fenderskirts, Engine Dress up kit, Power Steering and Power Brakes. The car also has the hardtop. Originally the car did not come with the convertible top, but the Darcey's purchased one shortly after buying the car. Our two daughters enjoyed our Sunday outings in the car and now our grandkids can enjoy those "Top down rides". We have driven the car in numerous parades carrying dignitaries and beauty queens. The car has been a joy to own and it has made Dianne and I proud owners.
